Duties
This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement will be adjusted to include locality payment for selected duty location. General Schedule locality pay tables may be found under Salaries & Wages.

To ensure compliance with an applicable preliminary nationwide injunction, which may be supplemented, modified, or vacated, depending on the course of ongoing litigation, the Federal Government will take no action to implement or enforce the COVID-19 vaccination requirement pursuant to Executive Order 14043 on Requiring Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination for Federal Employees. Therefore, the requirement that applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 pursuant to E.O. 14043 does not currently apply as of the date of this job opportunity announcement. As an Information Technology Specialist (Information Security), GS-2210-14, you will perform the following duties:

Implement high-level security requirements such as those relating from laws, regulations, and presidential directives;
Integrate security programs across disciplines;
Develop long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipates, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities;
Resolve integration issues related to the implementation of new systems with the existing infrastructure; and
Review proposed new systems, networks, and network software designs for potential security risks.

Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

Basic Qualifications: In order to meet basic qualifications for GS-2210 positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies defined below:
Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
Your application package should demonstrate this experience. Examples of demonstration include;
Attention to Detail: ensuring IT project adherence to regulations and governance policies.
Customer Service: generating performance measures, monitoring achievements, reporting variances, responding to data calls and contributing to briefings.
Oral Communication: leading a team in the analysis, planning, establishment of requirements, and other related business, management, and technical duties to initiate IT projects including reporting on cost, schedule and performance.
Problem Solving: identifying risks and issues and provide recommendations for mitigation or resolution.
Specialized Experience: In addition to demonstrating the basic qualifications listed above, applicants must also demonstrate possession of specialized experience.

You qualify at the GS-14 level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level that included the following tasks and responsibilities:
Coordinating the implementation of IT security programs across platforms;
Evaluating IT security incident response policies;
Identifying the need for IT security changes based on new technologies or threats;
Applying project management principles and methods to ensure a fully compliant infrastructure protection program is implemented throughout the organization.
