Job Description:

Pay Range: A.16, $71,032.00 - $109,054.40

ENGINEER III – STORMWATER ENGINEERING CENTER SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

This individual will work in the Stormwater Project Management section of the Stormwater Engineering Center in Public Works and will perform a variety of duties of a complex nature related to stormwater civil engineering projects. Representative work duties include but are not limited to:
?
Project management for the City’s Stormwater Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects

?
Review of complex drainage plans or studies including preliminary engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, and specifications for stormwater conveyance systems, detention basins/storage facilities, pump stations, etc.

?
Responsible for planning, preliminary engineering, design, calculations, presentations and overall project development

?
Contract Management for design and construction

In addition to the minimum requirements, the ideal candidate for these positions will have experience listed in the preferences below. Candidates with the preferred experience should ensure the information is provided in the application.

Minimum Requirements:

MINIMUMS:
Requires a Bachelors Degree from an Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) approved engineering or engineering technology program with possession of a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license from the Virginia Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA) and five (5) years of progressive professional experience,
OR,
an Associates Degree in Engineering with seven (7) years of progressive professional experience and a possession of a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license from the Virginia Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, Certified Interior Designers and Landscape Architects (APELSCIDLA).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: All employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies.

Preferences:

Preferences:
• Project management experience demonstrating the ability to manage multiple-project workload
• Experience in planning, presentations and overall project development for a variety of stormwater projects
• Experience in Hydrologic and Hydraulic (H & H) Stormwater Design Calculations
• Experience in municipal public works in the field of stormwater engineering desired
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Experience in coordinating with Federal, State and Local agencies
• Proficient/knowledgeable in PC-SWMM® desired
