Award Winning Facility and Services

The Waste Management Division of Public Works received national and state-wide recognition for its services and communication. For excellence in the industry, the Division received the:
2015 Solid Waste Association f North America Award (SWANA) Bronze Collection System Excellence Award.

For rebranding and reconstructing the Virginia Beach Landfill and Resource Recovery Center, the Division received the:
• Virginia Recycling Association (VRA) 2015 Outstanding Municipal Program Award
• Virginia Municipal League (VML) Communications Achievement Award for Excellence in Local Government
• MarCom Awards 2014 Gold Award.
