In this role, you will:.

?Perform non-linear structural analyses (stress/dynamics) for reentry vehicles

?Produce and maintain models generated from both in-house and commercially available software codes, that simulate hostile encounter events, penetration mechanics, and impact physics.

?Prepare test plans, post-process test data, and compile test reports. You will be an important part of our product development team, where effective communication is critical.

?Have the ability to work on a multi-disciplined team performing structural design trades, preliminary and detailed design/analysis activity and performance and maintenance assessments of operational systems.

?Provide user documentation and recommendations to data packages to support peer and customer, present analysis data to engineering teams, customer technical representatives, and Program Office personnel at technical interchange meetings and design reviews

?Provide review, interpretation, flow down, and implementation of program requirements, and plan tasks and review budget and schedule to reduce cost and cycle time.
Basic Qualifications:
• Structural Finite Element Modeling/Analysis (FEM/FEA)

• Understanding of structural analysis through education or equivalent experience

• Experience performing analysis efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design activity

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace program or equivalent from an accredited college/university and/or equivalent education or experience

• Must be a US Citizen, and hold the ability to obtain and hold a Secret clearance
Desired Skills:
• A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position

• Experience with x-ray deposition, material vulnerability, and other hostile encounter environments

• Experience with Implicit/Explicit finite element modeling like LS-Dyna, Abaqus, NASTRAN 601/701/etc. or equivalent

• Experience with multi-physics or shock dynamics modeling with tools like LS-Dyna, CTH, etc.

• Experiencing working to requirements, interfacing with customers, and presenting technical analysis

• Experience designing verification and validation tests and correlating models post test

•Experience with structural analysis for re-entry vehicles

• Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform analysis

• Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment

• Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently

• Active Top Secret Clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
