As an Electrical and Instrumentation Mechanic, you’ll support flight line operations and developmental aircraft programs that continue to push the boundaries of possibility in aerospace.

What You Will Be Doing:
In this hands-on role, you’ll be part of the final stage of bringing legendary aircraft to life—performing critical troubleshooting, calibration, and validation on electrical and instrumentation systems for flight test and operational readiness. You’ll:
• Perform flight line checkout, maintenance, and repair of complex electrical and instrumentation systems and subsystems before, during, and after flight.
• Troubleshoot and correct electrical and electronic malfunctions using a wide array of test equipment including oscilloscopes, FM discriminators, TDRs, and more.
• Prepare, install, and validate flight instrumentation systems, including analog/digital data acquisition setups (FM-PCM, pulse code, etc.).
• Collaborate with engineers on aircraft modifications, design changes, and research and development initiatives.
• Build, route, and verify flight test electrical wire harnesses and integrate instrumentation across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Operate and maintain ground support stations and test setups for pre- and post-flight checks.
• Participate in production or acceptance flights to support in-flight testing and make real-time adjustments.
• Support aircraft preparation for various statuses including storage, inactive periods, and flight readiness.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of four years’ experience in aircraft electrical and electronic installation and electrical checkout or as a Flight Electrical and Instrument Mechanic.

And be able to demonstrate a knowledge, skillset, or have completed training in the following job skills:

1. Complete level blueprint, technical data and data
model comprehension, electrical schematics,
electrical diagrams, and systems diagrams
2. Electrical and electronic systems troubleshooting
and checkout.
3. Principles of operation of electrical systems.
4. Principles of operation of instrument systems.
5. Familiarization in operation of ground support
equipment.
6. Basic computer operations
Desired Skills:
• Experience supporting developmental or experimental aircraft programs.
• Familiarity with Skunk Works® or classified aircraft environments.
• Deep understanding of data acquisition systems and in-flight instrumentation protocols.
• Comfortable with evolving engineering requirements and flight test conditions.
• Prior experience supporting engineering flight tests and static/dynamic system development.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

The base range for this position in California $28.48 - $48.29.
