Job Description:
Sierra7, Inc. is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect to join the Enterprise Architecture Support Program in supporting the Veterans Administration.
Position Responsibilities: Analyze business needs and user stories to identify technical solutions Participate in the requirements definition process to better understand the customer needs Develop, deliver, and maintain Product Production Source Code. Triage defects, identify and implement resolutions Utilize best practices to check code in and out of source control each day Ensure team follows established team-developed coding and software tools standards Ensure developed work products in adherence to established security and quality control standards for software development Ensure developed work products in adherence to Section 508 coding standards and tools Create formal design documentation, as required Create interface control documents, as required Analyze areas for process improvement and identify technical solutions Work collaboratively across the team and with the customer. Support all project reporting requirements
Requirements:
Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC): Expertise in all phases, with knowledge and the ability to apply Scaled Agile methodologies. Various Software Designs, Languages, and Architectures: Familiarity with different programming paradigms and architectural patterns (e.g., Microservices, Event-Driven, SOA, API Management, etc.). Knowledge of programming technologies: C#, ASP.NET, MS SQL, and Angular; or knowledge of a leading industry technology Cloud Computing: In-depth knowledge and experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services (Compute, Databases, Storage, Networking, etc.). Certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are often a plus. Integration Technologies: APIs (REST, SOAP), messaging queues, ETL/ELT processes. Data Management: Databases (SQL, NoSQL), data modeling, data warehousing, data pipeline. Networking and IT Security: Understanding of network principles, security protocols, and best practices. Operating Systems: Knowledge of different server and client OS environments. Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's Degree: In Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. Relevant Certifications: Industry certifications related to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), or specific technologies can be highly valued. Federal Agency IT Experience: Knowledge and experience of the government IT environment and processes for building enterprise solutions. Business domain knowledge for solution building: Business domain knowledge should be aligned with VA's business operation functions. Patient care services, Medical specialty, Healthcare operation, Supply Chain, Claims Processing, Corporate operation, Non-Healthcare Benefit Management, Community Care, etc. Significant Hands-on Experience: Typically 12+ years of experience in software development, IT infrastructure, or related fields, with increasing responsibility. Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience in designing and implementing complex IT solutions and solution building.
