Job Title: System Test Engineer

Overview

SCCI is seeking a System Test Engineer to join our team in support of a Weapon System Program. In this position you will provide direct support to rapid acquisition and tactical prototyping projects. The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the engineering design teams, as well as with end-users, management, and sponsors throughout the design, integration and iterative test of prototypes and tactical systems. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities: Review test requirements and procedures to ensure system tests will satisfy necessary requirements and specifications Design and perform system tests based on system parameters, needs, test requirements, etc. Develop test strategies for both developmental and operational tests in both laboratory and field environments Generate and execute test cases to evaluate system performance, document results and communicate with the broader engineering team for system improvement Collect and analyze system test data Provide system test reports, documentation, and progress updates Interact with broader engineering team(s) to analyze test validity Participate in project reviews Evaluate system hardware and software performance with team members  

 



Essential Skills and Experience: Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline Three (3) years of professional experience testing integrated hardware/software systems in both lab and field environments Experience developing test plans, procedures, and strategies Experience executing system test operations Proficiency with use of test diagnostic equipment Experience collecting, processing, and presenting test data Ability to lift 25lbs Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write clear, logically sequenced, and grammatically correct documents Attention to detail in project documentation for content, formatting, consistency, and grammar Demonstrated ability to work independently, multitask, and manage priorities in a dynamic environment  

 

Preferred Skills and Experience: Familiarity with relevant DoD Systems Test Engineering Familiarity with test plans, reports, and technical documentation Demonstrated experience working with engineers, HW/ SW developers, and management to gather necessary documentation, requirements, security, and safety information Demonstrated knowledge of interfacing systems such as weapon systems, sensor systems, and user interfaces Experience with Requirements, Configuration Control, and Workflow Management
