Overview

We are seeking a full-time Engineering Applications Administrator in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for providing advanced administration and support for engineering applications (tools) in a team-oriented environment.
Essential Functions
Provide advanced administrative support for engineering applications used within the Engineering department including, but not limited to software configuration management, issue tracking, and other software development related applicationsProvide advanced triage for incoming user requests to classify/categorize requests, ensure requests contain complete and accurate information, and handle moderately complex requests or assign to other team members as appropriateProvide advanced technical support on application usage or moderately complex issuesProvide advanced assistance with engineering application upgrades as needed and in evaluating, integrating, administrating, and supporting new engineering applications as neededProvide advanced assistance in monitoring and testing of engineering applicationsProvide reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques, perform technical root cause analysis and outline corrective action for given problems, andPotentially serve as a mentor to less experienced engineering application administrators (Engineering Application Administrator 1) and may be responsible for planning own technical workWork collaboratively/professionally with other Garmin associates in cross functional teams to achieve goals and apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing solutions in a timely fashion Basic Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science or related fieldExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Must possess a minimum of 2 years experience administrating software engineering applications including experience with HTML, JavaScript or other substantially similar web technologiesMust demonstrate knowledge, education, experience and/or training necessary to provide advanced support for software engineering applicationsExperience with Perl and/or Python scripting languagesExperience with Linux operating systemDemonstrate strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrates a proficient ability to work directly with users, understand their needs, and complete moderately complex tasks and requestsDesired Qualifications
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)Experience with Atlassian's JIRA and Confluence applicationsExperience with Microsoft SharePointExperience with Apache web servers and Java application serversExperience with relational database systems (MySQL and/or PostgreSQL)Experience with VDI and firewall configurationExperience with Cadstar or Cadence eCAD tools
