Overview
We are seeking a full-time Quality Engineer 2 in our Olathe, KS location. In this role, you will be responsible for leading small projects and/or sub projects in analysis, development and improvement of quality systems.
Essential Functions
Develops process FMEA, Control Plans, conduct capability assessment, and measurement systems analysisAnalyzes and improves quality systems to enhance product and process quality and reduce costDevelops Inspection Reference Plans in support of RMI (as assigned)Conducts audits, documents audit findings and ensures closure of audit findingsAnalyzes failures and provides corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaintsData collection, analysis, and dissemination including quality performance, cost and reliability/warranty calculationsCollaborates and adds value in engineering design reviewsUnderstands and implements lean tools and methods in performance of essential functionsEstimates level of effort for a taskAnalyzes data to determine quality trends, finds technical root causes and implement corrective actions for given problemsDesigns custom tooling as needed for specific applicationsProvides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniquesServes as a mentor to less experienced quality engineers (Quality Engineer 1) Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and experienceExcellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)Demonstrated full use of industry standards and proceduresDemonstrated proficiency and knowledge in use of engineering tools Desired Qualifications
Outstanding academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5)Understanding of IATF 16949/VDA/MLA, AS 9100, APQP/PPAP/MSA, Supplier/sub-supplier Quality, AIG Layered Audits and Customer Specific RequirementsPrevious work or internship experience in a quality engineering role
