Job Description:
Microchip is seeking to employ a principal CAD engineer in our Central CAD division to support and develop digital simulation and verification environments and methods. The successful candidate will possess a thorough knowledge and understanding of the tools and flows required for the design, development, and verification of digital designs.
He or she will also be knowledgeable about design infrastructure and the implications to environment and work practice.
Responsiblities:Work closely with Microchip teams such as Engineering Services and BU Design teams to ensure Microchip's digital and mixed signal simulation tools and flows are robust and reliable. Provide front line support for Microchip staff in the use of these toolsDefine and maintain quality testing and benchmark methodology Provide guidance on tool road map and strategic planning advice to managementProvide an interface with external tool vendors and suppliers Mentor new users and other staff as neededDocument and otherwise archive developed material for future use and re-useSuch other comparable duties as may be required by Microchip managementRequirements/Qualifications:Must possess a minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or related programMust possess a minimum of 10 years work experience in a digital CAD or design roleMust be familiar with EDA tools used for digital design and verificationMust have experience with:Questa, Xcelium or VCSVerdi, Visualizer, or SimVisionUVM, System VerilogUPFExperience with verification regression management is an assetExperience with emulation, software co-simulation, system simulation, mixed-signal simulation or prototyping is an assetExperience with load management tools is an asset (e.g. LSF, RTDA, SunGrid)Experience with data management tools is an asset (e.g. GIT, SVN, CVS)Experience in scripting using Tcl, Python, csh/sh/bash, PERL, or other language is an assetMust be familiar with linux OSExcellent organizational skills and strong attention to detailAbility and willingness to learn new skills and self-starter who can produce in a remote managed settingExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishTravel Time:
