PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Under general supervision, performs troubleshooting, testing, repairing, calibrations and maintenance of instruments and controls, including complex control systems for reactors, steam generators, turbine generators, engineered safety features, radiation monitoring, and other power plant equipment.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1.) Uses specialized electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, and gas analyzing devices and analog and test equipment. 2.) Designs and constructs special test equipment and coordinates tests of systems and equipment. 3.) Analyzes test results and recommends corrective action when required. 4.) Uses, reviews and recommends revisions to procedures, prints, wiring diagrams, technical manuals and other documents as required. 5.) Recommends designs, design changes, and installs modifications to power plant protective, monitoring, and control systems. 6.) Coordinates activities with other plant personnel, work groups and vendors. 7.) Perform tasks inside radiologically controlled areas. 8.) Maintains a level of qualifications as required by applicable ASTM and ANSI standards, and site training programs.

JOB SCOPE
Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand control diagrams and electronic schematics.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet ANSI requirements. High School diploma or equivalent. Over six years experience with power plant instrumentation and controls or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience related to instrument maintenance. Other: 1. Satisfactory completion of Technician Occupations Selection System Test. 2. Must meet requirements of NRC psychological testing regulations. 3. Must satisfactorily complete radiation safety training, including respirator qualifications. 4. Must be able to qualify for performance of inspections for functional and surveillance testing in accordance with applicable ASTM and ANSI standards.
