Expected salary range : $82,800.00 - $92,000.00 per year, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401k.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Constellation is seeking a qualified professional with proven experience and results to join our Retail Settlements team. The Senior Analyst, Retail Settlements is responsible for maintaining advance knowledge of business applications and processes. This position is responsible for coordinating the operation of various systems, monitoring data flow, and performing activities that contribute to market settlement and Retail energy invoicing. The individual in this position is widely perceived as a subject matter expert in Retail electric markets and will act as a liaison with Commercial business segments. The individual will stay updated on the energy industry, ISO market rules, and regulatory requirements and will have a proven ability to read and comprehend tariffs and complex market guidelines. The Senior Analyst, Retail Settlements will offer subject matter expertise on projects or unique activities and will be required to effectively communicate and collaborate with various business stakeholders and external customers. The individual will be responsible for calculating pass-through rates associated with electric supply, interpreting large complex data sets, performing impact analysis and facilitating decision making, across a portfolio of >1M customers.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES



Retail Energy Market Expertise and Alignment Across Commercial Business Segments:

Develop and maintain an advance level of knowledge and understanding (subject matter expert) of the competitive energy markets. Support alignment between Wholesale and Retail portfolios through the development and maintenance of Retail electric cost component calculations that drive >$70M of invoicing monthly, including but not limited to ancillaries, capacity, and RPS. Understand current and impending regulatory changes and ISO market rules. Read and interpret tariffs and complex market guidelines. Perform billing duties for ISO sub-accounts, participate in Deal Review, and manage Peak Response settlement.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

Provide analysis and reporting to support internal and external requirements as they relate to Retail electric supply. Understand and monitor data flow between external and internal applications. Perform thorough analysis of load variance and identify key drivers. Interpret large amounts of complex data and perform impact analysis that drive decisions across entire portfolio consisting of >1M customers.

Workflow Knowledge Management and Performance Improvement:

Maintain an advance understanding of Retail & Wholesale workflow processes and the handling of exceptions. Proactively challenge the status quo to automate and improve processes. Develop and lead initiatives to improve the reliability and integrity of business processes and workflow systems. Design and implement solutions to Retail applications in support of non-standard deals, Change in Law, new market entry, and new products.

Customer Interfacing, Cross Functional Communications and Risk Mitigation:

Effectively communicate with department leadership and other departments to address and resolve business issues. Interface with Commercial & Industrial customers in handling and resolving inquiries. Review and evaluate the integrity of internal workflow system controls across Retail and Wholesale lines of business, and the reliability of control procedures. Proactively communicate workflow system concerns to avoid or fully remediate issues that cross multiple groups.

Comprehension/Adherence of Policies and Controls:

Communicate proactively across multiple groups to avoid or fully remediate issues as it relates to UDC/ISO market rule changes. Ensure that all Sarbanes-Oxley ("SOX") Key Financial Controls and other company policies are followed.

Workflow Innovation and Functional Knowledge Collaboration:

Innovates workflow processes with focus and intent, creating the solutions that matter most for our customers. Maintain an advance understanding of business process mapping and workflow activity within own team. Collaborate with other functional teams and commercial business segments to provide recommendations for ongoing workflow innovation.

Team Talent Development:

Work with leadership to design and execute personal development plans addressing workflow process knowledge and increasing industry knowledge. Provide one-to-one training and workshop training for team members.

Internal and external contact relationships: Key external contacts include Customers, Utility Supplier Representatives and Constellation Vendors. Key internal contacts include the Leadership Team, Federal and State Regulatory and Policy Groups, Legal, Forecasting, Pricing, Portfolio Management, Wholesale Operations, Retail Sales, Billing, Customer Care, Payment Operation

Qualifications
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum:

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related discipline

• 5 or more years in equivalent business experience

• Prior experience in the retail energy industry and/or regulated energy industry

• Advanced knowledge of retail & wholesale energy products and/or metering, as well as ISO, RTO or Exchange settlement activities

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Access and/or SQL database query development

• Demonstrative technical analysis/consulting skills (3 or more years of technical analysis/consulting experience)

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external parties

• Ability to work well under stressful situations

• Excellent organizational, time management skills

• Results driven and solution oriented

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Strong spreadsheet capabilities and knowledge of specialized software products.

• Strong analytical skills with ability to solve new and complex problems quickly.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Management Information Technology or Supply Chain Management

• Prior experience in using CRM and/or Order-to-Cash workflow systems

• Working knowledge of UDC/ISO market EDI transactions
