The Distribution Manager is responsible for all functions of our multi-facility distribution operation. Focus will be spent on driving improvements to key distribution metrics including safety, on time delivery and facility throughput. This key position will be responsible for 6-8 direct reports and will drive continuous improvement projects in receiving, material flow and shipping. Successful interaction with our manufacturing plants, order management, demand planning and sales are all critical expectations in order to drive continuous improvement in the facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintains customer relations by ensuring seamless material flow process from incoming receiving and inspection to shipment of product to customers. Manages materials and movement between secondary distribution center including establishing/improving processes for system driven replenishments and customer shipments. Designs and directs the work of the team. Selects, coaches and develops staff. Sets clear expectations to inspire and motivate the team. Acts as a mentor, manages performance, recognizes achievement, provides feedback and administers progressive discipline when necessary. Develops partnerships with various manufacturing plants, demand planning, order management and sales. Is fully engaged in monthly SIOP and as a result, creates appropriate distribution plans. Oversee inventory management and control, accuracy, and established inventory guidelines and procedures. Management of external 3PLs relating to customer fulfillment including accurate and timely transactions to appropriate customers. Ensure proper facility storage utilization is maintained throughout seasonal changes Leads and improves Material/Inventory Management best practices including Warehouse Management (Cycle Count Accuracy, Transactions, Bar Coding, RFID) and Advance Replenishment Methods, Fill Rate and other distribution metrics. Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned. Other Duties as assigned and the following: Act as SAP Super User within functional area as assigned Accountable for defining resource needs including headcount needed in each area of the facility Minimal Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 8+ years of progressive management experience in distribution operations or a similar work environment Preferred Qualifications: MBA or Advanced degree in Supply Chain Management Experience in international logistics; ERP/MRP user (SAP/Oracle); Member of the Association for Operations Management (APICS); Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Detailed understanding of merchandise flow through the supply chain Strong understanding of the movement of materials and goods in a distribution setting Ability to build and maintain positive and supportive relationships at all levels Personal flexibility in approach Positive response to change in procedures and processes Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Physical demands:
