VSE Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Technician II (Aircraft Mechanic) Crew Lead for our Contract Field Team facility located in Okinawa, Japan.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be required to lead teams through more complex aircraft relevant tasks and may be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records. Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects. Responsible for the inspection and repair of structural components due to corrosion or paint deterioration and the restoration of external and internal aircraft, AGE, and part coatings; therefore, structural maintenance experience is required. Designs, repairs, modifies and fabricates aircraft, metal, plastic, composite, advanced composite, low observables and bonded structural parts and components. Applies preservative treatments to aircraft, missiles and support equipment. Assembles structural parts and components to meet requirements for preserving structural integrity. Assesses damage to aircraft structural components. Advises on repairs, modifications, and corrosion protection treatment with respect to original strength, weight, and contour to maintain structural integrity. Applies preservative treatments to aircraft, missiles and support equipment. Inspects structures and components and determines operational status. Uses metalworking equipment and tools to form, cut, bend and fasten replacement or repair parts to damaged structures and components. Fabricates, repairs and assembles tubing and cable assemblies for aerospace weapon systems and support equipment. Maintains and inspects tools and equipment. Stores, handles, and dispose of hazardous waste and materials according to environmental standards. This position will be able to issue tools if needed in the absence of supply technician. Maintain repair and modify aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty. Maintain and repair aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as; blueprints or manufactures' manuals. Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma with 2 years' experience Knowledge of leading a crew of 5 or more Mechanics/Aircraft Workers Thorough/broad knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modifications and repair, as well as thorough knowledge of aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dials indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes and sheers. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Common Access Card (CAC) & Secret Security Clearance. Must have working knowledge of technical publications. Preferred Requirements:

Contract Field Team Crew Lead experience preferred. Extensive corrosion control methodology background preferred. Sheet Metal Experience:
Preferred minimum of six years total and two years recent (within 4 years of task order PoP start) in USAF aircraft maintenance support as a sheet metal mechanic. T The Contractor shall have the skill to remove and replace F-15 & KC-135 aircraft parts and accessories/components and the skill to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Experience in performing or supervising functions such as fabricating, repairing, assembling, or installing aircraft metals, plastics, fiberglass, composites, or honeycomb parts; or corrosion identification, removal, and applying coatings and markings is highly desirable.
