VSE CORPORATION IS SEEKING A NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING TECHNICIAN FOR THE GREENSBORO, NC AREA - DEPOT AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE

SUMMARYPerform various methods of Nondestructive testing (NDT) on customer aircraft and components. Methods include: Penetrant, Magnetic particle, Eddy current, Ultrasonic, and Radiography. Coordinate the activities of all NDT duties, ensuring that all inspections are properly completed in compliance with established policies and procedures and that the corresponding inspection records, reports and forms are properly executed prior to releasing products for return to service.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assure all work is performed completely, correctly, and with the highest degree of quality.Assure all work is properly documented, whether accepted or rejected.Set-up and calibrate equipment, interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable standards and specifications.Responsible for ensuring that all inspection tools are maintained in accordance with current specification and calibrations as required, assures that the proper records are prepared and maintained.Serve as a contact point in order to resolve NDT disputes pertaining to production and provide related assistance and counsel as needed.Perform NDT audits pertaining to safety and proper maintenance procedures and documentation to ensure compliance.Perform aircraft audits of completed inspections to validate effectiveness of the inspection process.Perform aircraft NDT inspections a required and as time allows.Perform aircraft primary and buy-back inspections as directed by Quality Control managementAny other duties assigned by the Manager of Inspection
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: •Highschool diploma or equivalent.
•Certified to Level II in Eddy Current, Penetrant and Ultrasonic
•Must be able to pass a Level II trade test for the methods listed above.
•Must have documentation of initial training and Levels I & II certifications per the SNT-TC-1A Standard.
•Two (2) to five (5) years of experience as a technician, or inspector in a commercial aircraft environment, or previous demonstrated ability with VSE or up to four (4) years Military Aviation experience.
•Capable of interpreting drawings, blueprints, service bulletins, ads and any other related documents as required.
•Must read, write, speak and understand English.
•Must be able to work in high places and confined spaces.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Certified to Level II in the five (5) methods listed above.Airframe and power plant certification.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have near vision, corrected or uncorrected, or at least 20/25 and distance vision, corrected or uncorrected, of at least 20/30. Must pass a color contrast differentiation test.Normal or corrected hearing and vision required.Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds unassisted.Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, stand, reach and stretch, climb steps, ladders and/or service stands, and stand prolonged periods of time.Must be able to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.Should not generally have a fear of heights or confined spaces.MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
