Job Description:

ASRC Federal Netcentric Technologies is seeking a Weapons Facilities Engineer to support our contract at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. This position prepares design documentation to include, but not limited to: Statements of Work, Specifications, drawings, sketches, calculations and building code references.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Weapons Facilities Engineer supports the Kirtland AFB Engineering Operations Services (KEOS) contract at the Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM. The Weapons Facilities Engineer provides complete and usable facility and infrastructure study and design services for weapons storage, maintenance and support facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provides reliable and responsive Engineering facility support to ensure effective and efficient operations of U.S.-owned and occupied weapons facilities, associated installed equipment, and infrastructure.

Performs and supervises general engineering services to provide complete and usable infrastructure study and design services.
Leads the development of work processes, tools, and knowledge resources that support infrastructure design.
Designs facilities construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models.
Produces engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules.
Confirms adherence to construction specifications and safety standards by inspecting construction site, and verifying calculations and placements.
Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in civil engineering from a program certified by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) or in architecture from a program certified by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB).
Shall have and maintain professional registration as an engineer under the requirements of any US State or territory.
A minimum of five years' experience in facility and infrastructure design.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
Be able to prepare and present presentations/briefings to the Air Force client.

Physical Demands

This position will work primarily in an office environment with extensive sitting and computer work. Will also be required to perform facility investigation tasks which may require climbing, standing, stooping, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching and walking demands.

Work Environment

The diversity of work conditions may range from office environment with little or no physical discomfort to field environment where inclement weather may subject the individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain etc.
