Job Description:
Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician III (Watertight Enclosure Technician) in San Diego, CA.
Summary: The position will provide maintenance, repair and technical support to the customer. Repair a variety of standard and nonstandard watertight doors, hatches and scuttles. Use technical documents (JFMM, Instructions, NSTM's, Military standards, Test memos, Test Standards, Drawings and Technical Manuals) that contain information required to accomplish work. This position will be under limited supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Keeps the Water Tight Door Lead informed of matters pertinent in maintaining established production schedule goals. Utilizes Ships Drawing index (SDI), Consolidated Onboard Ships Allowance List (COSAL), Allowance Parts List (APL) demonstrate ability to identify correct reference drawings and interpret structural drawings to include interpreting welding and structural symbols. Identifies and procures mil-specs and non-mil-specs material utilizing established Naval supply system and vendors to include obtaining quotes for said material and or equipment. Verifies work package (maintenance procedure or Formal work package) references match product delivered. Acts as liaison with planners in obtaining correct reference drawings for item delivered if need be. Coordinates and tracks with shop leads (corrosion control and welder) the timely completion of in process work. Mentors and trains assigned personnel in the proper safety requirements and use of electrical and portable hand tools utilized throughout the overhaul procedures. Identifies need for and accomplish approved installations for Mach-alts. Perform the following duties using government provided vehicles; drop parts, equipment, tools off on ship, drive parts, equipment, tools to and from ship to shop.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of work experience performing watertight enclosure maintenance Familiar with welding symbols and repair procedures for various standard and non-standard closures Sound interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts Ability to read schematics and blue prints Ability to read technical manuals and repair standards Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret security clearance Possess a valid driver's license

Requires walking, reaching, sitting and concentration in the presence of occasional noise Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships) Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs in weight Office, warehouse, laboratory, pier side, shipboard Ability to wear a face mask while working Noise conditions range from very quiet to loud
