Job Description:

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full time Submarine Communications Systems (Engineering Technician V) in San Diego, CA.

Summary: This position is responsible for providing direct Fleet Technical Support (FTS) to submarines homeported and visiting San Diego in assessing, maintaining, and repairing submarine communications equipment and supporting systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides support as primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Submarine Communications systems to includethe following: SATCOM and C4I Systems including terminals, interfaces, antennas, power distribution, and associated controls Works on Navy Multi-band Terminal (NMT) Joint Tactical Terminal (JTT), Digital Modular Radio (DMR), Common Data Link (Hawklink), and Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP) Common Submarine Radio Room (CSRR) including exterior communication system terminals, computers and networks, radios, cryptographic equipment, and messaging systems Other submarine communications equipment including Mini-DAMA, baseband switching, Global Broadcast System (GBS), transmitters, receivers, Time Frequency Distribution Systems (TFDS), Automated Digital Network System (ADNS)
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum 6 years related experience with submarine communications and electronic support measures systems Ability to obtain / maintain a SECRET security clearance Ability to troubleshoot and assess various pieces of US Navy Submarine communications equipment Ability to communicate well with superiors and peers Ability to read technical manuals and repair standards Ability to work well on their own with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
Possess current DOD SECRET clearance 10 or more years of experience in submarine C4I/communications systems and associated equipment operation, testing, installation, modification, repair and maintenance

Frequent standing, sitting, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms Regular Communication (hearing and speaking) Occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting of heavy objects Ability to go aboard ships, barges and other naval craft Ability to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways onboard ships Ability to lift, carry and move objects up to 50 lbs. Industrial, shop environment Ability to wear face mask while working
