How will your role impact First Command?
The Sales Analyst II prepares sales reports/forecasts and collects and analyzes data to evaluate current sales trends. Assists in the development of sales quotas and forecasts for the sales team. Expected to assist in, and at times lead, process development, implementation, improvement and automation of reports for executives, senior leaders, analyst team and the sales force. Works on projects/analysis of appropriate complexity to gain exposure to some of the more complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
What will you be doing?
Analyze advisor, client, and sales data to identify trends, correlation, causality and insights which are then interpreted and translated into a relatable presentation/story dependent on scope and audience. Supports determination of best practices and develops actionable insights for advisor related operations. Perform routine and ad hoc business analysis using various techniques (e.g. statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining, etc.) to allow sales leaders to make key fact-based decisions. Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity. Understands the potential impact of upcoming business changes as related to key performance metrics. Integrate multiple data sources, perform data reconciliation and variance analysis checks to identify, investigate and resolve data errors and/or inconsistencies. This may include developing a new data source that does not currently exist. Liaison relationships are required between BIS and other functional departments, therefore the analyst must be proficient with business and technical experience that can be readily applied to impact productivity and efficiency within the sales function. May occasionally guide less experienced sales analysts with training and support for analytics reports/projects.
What skills/qualifications do you need?
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business (or related field) required and 2 - 4 years relevant work experience (in financial services or sales-oriented firms preferred) OR Master's degree in Business (or related field) and 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience First Command knowledge is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced user of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel required Knowledge of MS Access, SQL, and/or VBA strongly preferred Experience with Salesforce, PowerBI, ThoughtSpot, or Tableau preferred Requires excellent analytical ability, attention to detail, and proven ability to work independently and in a team High communication skills are required in order to review, analyze, and evaluate user needs to effectively meet analysis requirements Must be self-motivated with the initiative to take on whatever tasks arise Must possess strong communication/interpersonal skills and leadership skills, and be able to deliver news that is sensitive, and/or confidential, in a professional manner Proficient with relational databases and integration of data from multiple sources
