Distribution Management (DMO) Manager

Job Summary:

Provides leadership by directing the efforts of personnel involved in the transportation and/or distribution of military supplies/equipment in direct support of the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP). Responsible for the management of all transportation efforts to include but not be limited to deployment, retrograde, and disposal actions associated with MPS equipment. This billet provides a variety of transportation support to programs located in different geographical locations such as Norway, Saipan, Diego Garcia, and Kuwait among others. Strong knowledge of Federal, DoD, service regulations, the Defense Transportation System (DTS), commercial modes of transportation, and distribution logistic functions to enable optimal selection and procurement of commercial and/or government-operated land, air, and water transportation services is a must. This role requires daily physical distribution management decisions regarding receipt and distribution of cargo. Responsible for various procurement actions, financial documentation, and payment processes for transportation services. Organizes the logistics coordination for the distribution of sustainment cargo of military assets from the point of origin/port of embarkation (POE) to the port of debarkation (POD) via common user modes of transportation, and the Defense Transportation System (DTS). Responsible for the overall performance of the assigned department or function. Provides operational oversight to ensure work is accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ensures awareness and monitors employee compliance with all applicable company directives, policies, and procedures. Coordinates activities involving the customer, other organizations, and/or company functions. Responsible for defining training requirements, developing employee skills, and promoting continuous improvement. Develops and implements performance standards and internal controls.


BA/BS degree with a major study in Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Strategic Deployment Planning, or related field.In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credit, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.Ten (10) years of progressive work experience in a logistics operations support environment.Four (5) years of supervisory experience.Must be a US Citizen. Proof required.Working knowledge of Integrated Development Environment (IDE)/Global Transportation Network (GTN), Joint Operational Planning and Execution System (JOPES), SYNCADA, RFID, Microsoft Office PowerPoint, and Excel.Strong written and oral communication skills.Valid Driver's License.Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
