Job Title: Systems Engineer, Lead

WR has a potential need for a Systems Engineer for an exciting position supporting U.S. Navy Surface Ship Track Management systems. The selected candidate will perform day-to-day Systems Engineering and Engineering Management duties from Dahlgren, VA.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Independently analyzes the performance of hardware and software interfaces and identifies alternatives for optimizing the usage of computer resources and modern hardware solutions. Independently applies generally accepted programming standards and techniques to assure efficient program logic and data storage and/or manipulation. Participates in designing, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and documenting operating systems and software. Provides assistance and routine consultation to users in the development and integration of systems and environments. Installs systems and user utilities for modifications and upgrades of systems and environments. Manages system maintenance and repair activities. Independently and efficiently diagnoses and resolves system problems. Acts as liaison with manufacturers and vendors of systems and application products, especially with regard to problem diagnosis and resolution. Plans and executes system version upgrade releases and custom interfaces. Works with others to develop alternative system and software designs. Recommends selection, approval, and acquisition of hardware, software, networking components, and services. Installs, configures, and tests workstations with supporting hardware, software, and networking components.
Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

BS Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, Math, Physics or related scientific discipline from ABET. Six (6)+ or more years of experience as a Systems Engineer. Experience with the concepts and operation of the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) is required. Working knowledge of system engineering models, development models, processes, Unified Modeling Language (UML), tools scheduling and budgeting. Intrinsically-motivated. Excellent speaking, writing and briefing skills. 30% travel required.
Active Secret Security Clearance required
