Overview

The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking a Logistician I to join our Philadelphia Engineering Office. The GBS Group designs and delivers high technology services and solutions to most advanced naval and maritime ships, as well as to special purpose platforms and assets. Our office is located at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, which is a dynamic urban development, offering the Philadelphia region a unique and centrally located waterfront business campus committed to smart energy innovation and sustainability. The Navy Yard has over 20 acres of parks, one mile of waterfront trail and is located less than one-half mile from the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, Citizens Bank Park, as well as the retail/entertainment center Xfinity Live!


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
NAVLOGTD Subject Matter Expert Support.

Assist the government as the Product Owner for the NPDM module in MBPS. Represent NAVSEA 03R utilizing their in-depth knowledge of MBPS, current NAVSEA legacy ILS IT systems, and their experience with NAVSEA 03R and 05R personnel managing both MBPS and current legacy ILS IT programs being rationalized into MBPS. The contractor's primary responsibilities will be coordinating the Government and Contractor team on the migration of the following Legacy Systems into MBPS and Technical liaison to the cognizant NAVSEA Program Offices: CDMD-OA NSEDR TDMIS ICAPS NAVLOGTD ATIS

Participate in regularly scheduled MBPS program support calls with the entire support team daily and a separate call 3 times per week with the core Government team.

Provide logistics guidance and expertise in the function of the current legacy systems being migrated to MBPS, and an understanding of PLM and data management principles and experience with managed digital data and the current governing Navy and NAVSEA specifications and policies and the planned implementation of the International S Series specifications. The current specifications being implemented in MBPS include: S1000D International specification for technical publications using a common source database. S2000M International specification for materiel management - Integrated data processing S3000L International specification for Logistics Support Analysis - LSA

Assist the government in the use of the following NAVLOGTD Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS)

Applications: SDL Contenta (Content Management System, includes S1000D module), SDL XPP (Publishing Software), SDL Live Content (S1000D Interactive Electronic TM viewer/publisher) and ArborText Editor (XML/SGML Editor). Support includes user issues, upgrades, and implementation of new functionality. Support includes evaluating and working the data types, SGML/XML DTDs and Schemas used for TMs, PMS, OSS that are managed by NAVLOGTD,

Participate in NAVLOGTD meetings, CCBs, and provide programmatic support for Technical Manuals (TM), Planned Maintenance System (PMS), Operational Sequencing System (OSS) data. Assist the government in the migration of legacy NAVLOGTD applications and data to the NPDM component of MBPS.

Understanding of NAVLOGTD business processes, source data structure and MBPS tools and capability.

Qualifications

Candidates for this position must possess the following professional experience and qualifications:

Minimum Education: Associates degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field of study from an accredited College or University, OR may have equivalent validation/certification gained through service in the US Military in the field of Junior Officer or Non-Commissioned Officer/Enlisted (E4 or above) logistics support billets. Minimum Experience : Two (2) years of experience as a logistician supporting supply programs or projects. Shall possess working knowledge of naval and commercial logistical databases, e.g. TDMIS, CDMD-OA, Haystack, Wind Chill, or equivalent.
