General Requirements
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits. Using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment. Demonstrate ability for interpreting wiring diagrams and control schematics. Must have recent and current experience with in two (2) years unless designated below. Must have experience with Planned Maintenance (PMS) and Engineering operational sequencing systems (EOSS). Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes. Ability to Locate and trace circuit failures, and replace parts, measure current, voltage and resistance, test for shorts, grounds and continuity, test protective circuitry, and test, service and replace batteries between Machinery control system and the field sensors. Technicians perform preventive maintenance on MCS equipment and control and monitor circuits, measure insulation resistance, repair electrical/electronic cables, wiring, and connectors, maintain and repair alarm, indicating on the MCS HMI page. Must have knowledge or willing to learn intermediate maintenance on electrical components of gas turbine engines, main propulsion machinery, auxiliary equipment, propulsion control systems, and assigned electrical and electronic circuitry up to the printed circuit and alarm warning circuitry. Other duties include working with blueprints, schematics, cut sheets and performing work area inspection in the lab and providing OJT to the new sailors onboard ship . Operate, repair and maintain Machinery control system and land based test facilities. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance. Ability to travel up to 40% including ships underway and OCONUS.
Skills and Qualifications
Current working knowledge of "Navy Amphibious Ship" Machinery Control System (MCS) / Machinery Control System Suite (MCSS) Experience with troubleshooting and repairing: LHDA machinery control systems UPS Gas turbine control systems A minimum of three (3) years of experience in the operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance and assessment of MCS / ECS / MCSS and Support Systems, with at least 6 months' experience occurring within the last 12 months. Technical SME support for INSURV / TSRA inspections/assessments, engine balancing and Sea Trials. Ability to troubleshoot propulsion and auxiliary hardware, such as transducers, Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTE), Thermocouples, Signal Conditioners, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Input / Output Controllers (OICs), Network Switches and PC - based control and monitoring systems. Former Navy CGs, GSEs preferred.

Physical/ Mental Requirements
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, lift a minimum of 50lbs and walk up and down stairs numerous times. Ability to work in confined spaces and in extreme temperatures. Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the (Naval/ Maritime) facility or ship Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the facility. Must be able to work in and on overhead structures, as well as below machinery. Requires kneeling, bending, and climbing ladders or scaffolding. Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
