Job Description:

Minimum Years Experience: Ten (10) years’ experience in all aspects of editing, as well as editing systems and equipment.

Minimum Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communication, literature, journalism, or a creative discipline.

Experience Substitution for Education: Four (4) years’ of relevant experience.

Duties:
- Provide post production management (CLIN 4); implement and maintain project strategies, breakouts, calendars, and budgets for projects; Provide the COR/Producer with a weekly Post Production schedule update to ensure timelines are met and overbooking doesn’t occur.
- Coordinate scheduling of qualified post-production vendors when needed while maintaining relationships with outside vendors, designers, and editors; Keeping a list of go-to companies and freelancers that can be brought in as needed.
- Work with COR/Producers to assess upcoming initiatives and anticipate needs.
- Supervise archival and recording of all completed projects and oversee organization and maintenance of shared resources.
- Maintain GFE, specifically the editing suites equipment that include software updates, repairs, replacement, etc..
- Consult with producers and clients to determine the editing requirements as well as any required involvement, from both a technical and creative standpoint, during pre-production and production phases of a project.
- Determine when specialized editing services are needed and work requests need to be expedited due to client demand and execute sucky requests after obtaining COR/Producer approval.
- Review, and if necessary, modify all work done by outside contractor resources to ensure work meets all established standards and requirements.
- Duplicate products, per client’s request, for distribution, perform editing sessions for audio/video products, research and identify post-production system requirements, and assess editing scheduling needs and freelance requirements.
- Create and update promotional clips for all services covered under the current contract.
- Perform in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner with a combination of duties mainly related to, but not limited to, the editing of audio/video products.
- Coordinate maintenance and engineering of the post-production facilities.
- Work with production and intellectual property departments to assess editing needs and ensure compliance with Section C 1.6.6, in accordance with all contractual obligations.
- Forecast future software and equipment needs and identify ways to increase productivity.
- Manage all post-production projects from inception through completion.
- Work with Creative Director on projects; oversee designer/editor workload and schedule.
- Ensure that client satisfaction is achieved with error free services and the products provided.
- Ensure that projects are completed within the clients’ established due date.

Abilities/Skills/Knowledge Required by the Position:
- Possess effective communication skills including the ability to articulate ideas, concepts, and direction to the multimedia group and clients; skilled in effective communication, time management, and problem solving.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience in design and the latest production techniques.
- Possess excellent customer service skills, attitude, and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Proven record to manage and execute all post-production of video recorded material.
- Ability to integrate computer animation into film and power point presentations.
- Ability to advise clients’ in the creative use of digital material and respond appropriately to their needs and input.
- Ability to maintain a wide range of post-production equipment and software.
- Ability to function under tight deadlines, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and work with a complete understanding of the life cycle of on air and off air graphics projects.
- Ability to multi-task while working independently and with a team.
- Basic knowledge of digital video formats, transcoding, and delivery methods.
- Demonstrated depth of understanding and experience with production techniques, graphic design, and typography.
- Experienced and proficient in various editing platforms such as Avid, Adobe Premier, and Final Cut Pro.
- Ability to operate MAC-OS Avid, skilled in the operations and editing.
- Experienced and proficient in advanced color correction and Adobe After Effects.
- Experienced in directing multiple projects and meeting timelines simultaneously.
- Experienced in providing quotes based on the clients needs.
- Experienced in managing/assigning work to Freelancers based on clients needs.

Supervisory Controls: Reports to Project Manager/Chief AV Engineer for technical and related services.

Guidelines: Perform within company and client standard operating procedures and to promote a positive and successful working environment.
