Job Description
Loudoun County, one of the fastest growing counties in the nation, is currently seeking a full-time Project Architect to manage the design phase of multiple projects from architectural consultant procurement through bidding and to assist the Construction Manager through construction and close-out. This position is with Loudoun County's Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure and will manage Architect/Engineering contracts and end user programs, perform detailed plan review, provide technical plan interpretation, coordinate the design review processes, write contractual scope of work, participate in the architect selection process, report monthly on the project progress, manage the design budget according to contracting procedures and guidelines, handle all end user needs to transition to a new building, including moving, temporary services and all FF&E selection and procurement. The Project Architect will also conduct community/public meetings as needed, attend Board of Supervisors meetings as required and work with program departments, design professionals, contractors and other affected parties to ensure the work is executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, end user requirements, the project schedule and budget. Loudoun County's Adopted FY 2020 - 2025 Capital Improvement Program includes $1.4 billion in general government capital projects.
Job Requirements
Requires any combination of education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in an architectural discipline or related field and at least 4 years of professional practice in the design and architectural field of a complex nature. Direct design and administrative experience are also required. Licensed Architect, LEED AP, and/or Designated Plans Examiner preferred. Experience in construction management software, such as e-Builder, is preferred. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license.
Hiring Range: $73,883.01- $101,589.13
Salary Commensurate with Experience
Special Requirements
Must be able to inspect property and/or construction sites which often requires walking or climbing elevated structures and exposure to inclement weather wearing personal, protective equipment while in the field.
Post Conditional Offer Contingencies
This position may qualify for relocation assistance in accordance with County policy. Successful candidate will undergo a criminal background check, to include DMV and credit checks.
