Job Description:
The Department of Biology at the University of Virginia invites applications for a Research Associate position in the lab of Dr. Xiaorong Liu. This position will study the development and disease of mouse visual system. Specifically, the lab investigates how retinal ganglion cells mature during postnatal development and how these cells degenerate in mouse models of glaucoma. The incumbent will work independently in advancing these studies using an integrative approach that combines imaging, molecular, genetics, physiological, and behavioral techniques.
QUALIFCATION REQUIRMENTS: A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neuroscience, Biology, or a related discipline is required by the start date. Candidates with previous research experience in mouse genetics, molecular biology, and/or electrophysiology are preferred.
