Job Description:

The University of Virginia School of Nursing seeks applications to fill non-tenure-track, part-time Clinical Instructor faculty wage positions. We seek experienced educators with strong clinical experience in the specialty areas of pediatrics, obstetrics, psychiatric-mental health and community/public health, general medical or surgical specialty. Three years clinical teaching experience is preferred in one of the specialty clinical areas mentioned.

A Master's degree in nursing or related field is required; PhD/DNP is preferred. Applicants must be eligible for RN licensure in Virginia if applicable. Applicants who are eligible for Virginia nurse practitioner licensure; prescriptive authority and have national certification as a nurse practitioner especially family nurse practitioner are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities potentially include classroom lecturing but primarily will require the direct supervision of students in the clinical setting, along with evaluation of required written work. Candidates must have a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship.
