Responsibilities
OBXtek is currently staffing for a Systems Administrator to manage and administer operating systems installed on physical and virtual assets supporting operating systems to include Windows, RedHat Linux and MacOS. Performs installations, maintenance, support, administration, troubleshooting, configuration, and other system/server administrative activities. Provides support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems.

Most duties include the following:
Perform day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for system problems. Perform root cause analysis of critical outage and incidents and coordinates implementation. Manage IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Monitor server systems to ensure the latest operating system patches, security updates and security settings are within operational standards. Schedules apply, communicate, test, troubleshoot, report and support system patch and security settings levels within the server infrastructure. Exercise knowledge of network protocols and computer operating systems as well as proficiency with Windows, Linux and MacOS environments Maintain servers and other computer devices. Analyze system logs and identifies potential issues. Apply operating system updates, patches and configuration changes. Install and configure new hardware and software. Perform management and administration of operating systems installed on physical and virtual assets. Provide second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems, provides support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process, and provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers Plan and lead major technology assignments and evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success Function as a technical expert across multiple project assignments. Perform management and administration of software products. Manage, support, and perform continuous monitoring scanning of assets. Determine when new patches/updates are available support appropriate change management processes to apply those patches/updates. Create, update, and manage the hardware, software, and license asset inventory. Create, update, and maintain all documentation related to administration of hardware and software assets Manage user account information to include password reset. Perform data backups and restoration of files. Perform monitoring and performance tuning. Monitor system load, response time and available storage space. Ghost/image servers and desktop computers. Maintain system configuration files. Provide user/group administration. Perform scripting to automate services and refine procedures. Provide capacity planning support. Test and debug outages and issues.

Qualifications
Active SECRET security clearance
DHS Suitability required upon starting the position

Five (5) + years of experience performing systems administration activities. Must possess experience in one or more systems, architectures and associated hardware, mainframe, mini, or client/server based; such as: Windows, Linux and MacOS operating systems.
Education:
Associates Degree or higher
