As aLab Support Technician in the Solid State Drive Group at Micron Technology Inc., you will be responsible for using a variety of skills to assist in the development, evaluation and validation of prototype drives.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Safety:

Ensure a clean, safe and accident-free work environment by helping to develop, supervise and maintain safety protocols in the work area. Promote and enforce to practices and procedures in the labs including accurate PPE, lockout and chemical safety. Identify and report all hazards. Operate and maintain equipment and tools within safety guidelines.

Engineering Support:

Perform assembly piece-work as required to facilitate evaluation efforts Computer system building, setup, benchmarking, and over-clocking Present collected data in formal reports Assist with debugging equipment and product issues as necessary Build and deploy SSD test systems as needed to support engineering teams Rework of SSD hardware inclusive of fine pitch soldering, assembly of adaptors, and rework of fine pitch BGA parts inclusive of re-balling and reflow

Lab Management:

Manage the day-to-day operations of engineering labs Manage assets in the site SSD labs Insuring that all lab documentation is current and accurate Responsible for maintaining lab compliance to Micron standards

Equipment Management:

Responsible for tracking and sending equipment out for calibration for all of SSD Engineering labs Responsible for equipment check out and tracking using Micron programs of equipment Tracking Interface, Equipment Library and MICAP Support emergency and preventative maintenance for equipment used to test product during development Keep an inventory of consumable parts for testers, inclusive of oscilloscope probes and firmware emulation connectors

Qualifications:

Must be able to embrace shifting priorities and be adaptable to sudden changes in workflow Must have a high attention to detail, and be able to perform precise rework soldering using manual and semi-automatic solder rework tools Must be able to demonstrate a focus on customer needs Must be self-motivated with focus on quality, integrity and productivity as well as being interested in continuous improvement Must have proven ability to work independently or in teams, as needed Experience in equipment maintenance, computer maintenance and networking preferred Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
Education: AAS in Electronics Technology, Industrial Electronics, Computer Maintenance Technology, or equivalent with appropriate experience.
