Job Summary

Our XLR8 JIRA team manages support, projects, and initiatives for the Strategic Planning & Transformation organization within CenturyLink. As a JIRA Cloud Administrator, you will be the owner for our cloud instance of JIRA, JIRA Service Desk, and Confluence. You will be the first point of contact for all issues and initiatives from our internal teams ranging from new software projects, intra-project service desk workflows, and a complete new internal company confluence site. As we are at the beginning of building out our suite of Atlassian products, you'll have the power to make influence our strategic direction of our Atlassian instance and show significant impact to CenturyLink SP&T. You'll build meaningful relationships and partnerships with all business units to conceive and design innovative solutions to challenging problems.

Overview: The JIRA Cloud Administrator supports the organization's ongoing JIRA, JIRA Service Desk and Confluence needs, from user management, to issue triage, to workflow design and implementation. He or she fields incoming requests by users and provides timely support and guidance on all JIRA/Confluence issues.

JIRA Administrator Deliverables:
Develop guides and documentation for JIRA features and best practices Develop custom JIRA plugins or scripts with the JIRA REST API as needed Document results of JIRA workflows and process audits Provide teams and stakeholders with documented guidance Address and close all JIRA Administration support requests in a timely manner Create custom JQL filters and dashboards as needed Create custom JIRA workflows, schemes, screens and field configurations as needed

Job Description

JIRA Administrator Responsibilities:
Serve as a JIRA / Confluence administrator, subject matter expert and evangelist Maintain a dedicated Atlassian JIRA / Confluence Cloud instance Design and maintain custom projects, workflows, schemes, screens and field configurations Manage user permissions and project roles for JIRA, Confluence and other tools Work directly with cross-functional agile teams to understand their specific JIRA needs and provide guidance and solutions Perform routine audits of access lists and perform security tests to ensure restrictions are in place Create and manage custom JQL filters and dashboards as needed Train with JIRA Admin peers to learn program procedures and best practices Troubleshoot, identify and resolve JIRA issues reported by end-users Recommend, test, install, and configure JIRA plugins and add-ons as needed Develop training for groups of JIRA users and conduct classes on a regular basis Perform bulk changes and CSV imports Perform routine audits of the database to ensure consistent field usage and accurate reporting; work with teams to resolve inconsistencies Drive improvements to Confluence by reorganizing and archiving spaces and pages Develop processes and improvements around tools administration Coordinate with JIRA Admin peers and cross-functional agile teams to provide JIRA guidance, suggestions and solutions as needed Audit, improve and automate processes and workflows as needed Support JIRA Admin peers with application, system, issue, and project configuration support as needed Support JIRA Admin peers by designing and maintaining custom projects, workflows, schemes, screens and field configurations as needed On-call JIRA / Confluence support as needed, including nights and weekends

Qualifications
3+ years experience in JIRA & Confluence administration involving creation and management of custom, complex projects, workflows, security schemes, custom fields, dashboards and reports configurations Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, CS, MIS, or work equivalent Excellent understanding of JIRA workflows, permission schemes, notification schemes, screens schemes, etc. Excellent knowledge of SDLC and experience working with Agile teams Ability to build collaborative relationships across the organization Ability to analyze, review, and document current functionality to determine potential areas of improvement Excellent problem solving skills, process implementation skills Experience with scripting / programming / automation strongly preferred Experience creating JIRA plugins, scripts or reports using the Atlassian REST APIs strongly preferred Experience creating, configuring and maintaining a JIRA server strongly preferred
