Overview
Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for a Field Technician II, EPG for our Manassas branch.
Responsibilities
The EPG Technician II is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing electrical generator systems and related engine failures at customer sites. Troubleshoot intermediate level operational failures of generator sets, related equipment or industrial engines. Determine corrective action through the inspection of failed parts. Order replacement parts and services in a manner that promotes efficiency and effectiveness. Install and commission small genset units with Open ATS. Perform light electrical and heavy mechanical repairs to the engine, generator or components. Safely drive a service vehicle. Clearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely manner. Use medium voltage and/or reactive load bank equipment for the testing and repair of generators. Maintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environment. Demonstrate the ability to learn and apply new knowledge and perform various other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have experience diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing intermediate level issues and performing light electrical and heavy mechanical repairs to electrical generator systems and related equipment. Experience installing and commissioning small gensets with Open ATS preferred. Must be able to operate medium voltage and/or reactive load bank equipment. Experience in the use and application of electronic software. Must have a valid state driver's license, a good driving record and be available for after-hours emergency service requests from customers 24/7/365. Must be a strong communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must be able to work with limited supervision, be willing to travel and work hours as required by job and customer demand.
