Overview
Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic region is accepting applications for a Field Technician II, System Solutions Group (SSG) in our Manassas branch.
Responsibilities
The Field Technician II, Systems Solutions Group (SSG) performs various services on power generation systems at customer job sites. Conducts thorough substation and ATS testing and basic UPS testing to isolate potential problems. Performs maintenance and testing on Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), Paralleling Switchgear and Utility and Distribution Switchgears up to 35Kv. Assembles and installs all components on power generation systems, including wiring AC/DC circuits. Troubleshoots basic ATS and paralleling failures. Performs basic paralleling and UPS repairs and advanced ATS repairs. Installs and commissions ATS and generators. Performs EMCP retrofits and generator upgrades. Reads electrical wiring diagrams (schematics) and interprets specifications to determine appropriate installation process. Prepares detailed service reports, parts order requisitions and other related paperwork. Safely drives a service vehicle and performs various other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a thorough understanding of power generation products including generators, UPS, ATS and switchgears with experience implementing, diagnosing, troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance service on all equipment. Must have experience installing and commissioning ATS and generators. Must have a high proficiency with multi-meters and other electrical testing equipment. Must be able to comprehend electrical wiring diagrams, be able to wire and troubleshoot AC/DC circuits and apply OHM's law. Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
