Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for Field Technician SSG II for our Elkridge branch.
The Field Service Technician II- Systems Solutions Group is responsible for in-field of automated controls for various power generation equipment; performing maintenance and testing on Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), Paralleling Switchgear, Utility and Distribution Switchgears up to 35Kv. Assemble and install all components on power generation systems, including wiring AC/DC circuits, apply OHM's law. Troubleshoot basic ATS and paralleling failures. Identify issues and determine corrective action. Read electrical wiring diagrams (schematics), interpret specifications, to determine appropriate installation process. Ensure compliance to all specifications to ensure work is defect free. Perform basic paralleling and UPS repairs and advanced ATS repairs. Perform preventive maintenance service on power generation systems to factory specifications at customer job site. Conduct thorough substation and ATS testing and basic UPS testing to isolate potential problems. Install and commission ATS and generators. Perform EMCP retrofits and generator upgrades. Prepare detailed service reports, look-up parts, and complete parts order requisitions and other related paperwork. Return unused parts, REMAN part cores, failed parts, warranty parts, etc. in a timely manner. Interpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance and service manuals/bulletins. Reassemble to factory specifications. Keep abreast of current service literature pertaining to power generation. Safely drive a service vehicle.
Experience implementing, diagnosing, troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance service on power generation systems. Must have experience installing and commissioning ATS and generators. Must have a thorough understanding of power generation products: generators, UPS, ATS and switchgears. Must be able to read and comprehend electrical wiring diagrams. Must be able to wire and troubleshoot AC/DC circuits and apply OHM's law. Must have a high proficiency with multi-meters and other electrical testing equipment. Must have good troubleshooting skills. Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must have valid driver's license and a good driving record.
