Panum is looking to hire an Allied Trades Instructor (91E- Welder) for the Ordinance School. The position is based in Fort Lee, VA, for Marton Technologies, a member of the Panum Group of companies.
Job Description: This announcement is for Instructor/Writers to provide instructor services for the Ordnance School mission training Soldiers at their entry level (Skill Level 10) or for instructors to support the Army Logistics University training Allied Trade Warrant Officers in the Warrant Officer Basic or Advanced Courses. In addition to providing classroom, hands-on, and performance training, Instructors are responsible for testing, student administration, classroom setup, and maintaining equipment. All instructors will follow the TRADOC approved Programs of Instruction and school/university policies to attain proponent certification required in order to instruct.
Required general skills and experiences:
FOR SKILL LEVEL 10 POSITION:
Be Allied Trades (91E) trained as evidenced by a certificate showing graduation from 91E MOS.
Must possess National Accredited , Union, or previous employer certifications associated with the technical tasks of the courses they are to instruct.
FOR ALU ALLIED TRADES WARRANT OFFICER POSITION:
Must possess a minimum of 5 years in the 44B, 44E, or 91E MOS.
Must have served at the rank of SSG (E-6) or higher and be a WOBC graduate.
Must possess or have possessed an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) qualification.
FOR BOTH POSITIONS:
Possess minimum of three (3) years technical and tactical experience including, but not limited to, knowledge and hands-on skills in performing various weld applications, thermal cutting, welding Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTA -W), various machining applications , bench work, Computer Numeric Control (CNC) lathe, CNC milling machine and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)/Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) experience.
Must possess National Accredited, Union, or previous employer certifications associated with the technical tasks of the courses they are to instruct.
Must possess American Welding Society (AWS) and (National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) certifications or local union certifications (National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
Be proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) to ensure the ability to access required training tools.
Have knowledge of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding MOS or ASI-specific training and have superior written and oral communication skills.
Be detail oriented and have excellent organization, planning, coordination and time management skills.
Instructors /Writers shall have effective problem solving and interpersonal skills.
Be competent in basic mathematical skills up to and including roots and powers and metric notation as evidenced by having a high school diploma.
Be able to perform duties regarding moderate assisted lifting (not to exceed 100 lbs.), long periods of standing, sitting or walking, and endure inclement weather conditions on occasion.
Preferred training is the completion of the Common Faculty Development - Instructor Course or its equivalent within the last five (5) years or have the ability to complete it and shall complete it at the first available Government scheduled course.
Completed the TRADOC Initial Military Training (IMT) Installation Staff and Contractors Training Course (ISCTC) or its equivalent within the last three (3) years or have the ability to complete it and shall complete it at the first available Government scheduled course.
