Job Description:

SimVentions, consistently voted one Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a System Administratorto join our team to provide system administration and network administration for Vertical Launcher Systems (VLS) software development and test suites within the VLS Lab environment. Provide system administration and network administration for unclassified and classified test suites that utilize shipboard representative equipment and simulations to conduct software and integration testing.


Responsibilities:




- Conduct vulnerability scans, analysis, remediation, and inventory activities in conjunction with VLS IA Lead and implement IA related remediation or mitigations required to maintain accreditation of Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) development environment.

- Additional tasks may include:



- documenting lab or ship system and network topologies

- proposing the installation of software changes and hardware enhancements

- provide a solution to hardware failures and propose enhancements through collaboration with Fleet representatives, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)

- provide VLS Lab support making network cables, running network cables under floor tiles, moving equipment, and other duties as needed to keep the lab in operating status






Required Skills and Experience:




- 5 years of applicable system administration experience

- Be able to meet and maintain the requirements of the Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) policy for DoD Directive 8570 requirements of Information Assurance Technicians (IAT) Level 2 or higher with certification in an operating system and Information Security+ CE.

- This position shall also require an IT-1 level clearance and a Privileged Access Agreement (PAA).

- Operating System certification in any of the following operating system environments; Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Solaris or HP Unix

- Must have knowledge and experience providing IT support of systems and networks

- Must be willing to travel as required by the program. At times this could mean working in a shipyard, pier side, and at sea events

- Must be willing to work flexible times to support test events

- Ability to work within a government and contractor team environment

- Ability to work with others to meet established goals and program schedules

- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

- Ability to support VLS testing at external land-based test sites as necessary




Preferred Skills and Experience:




- Amazon Web Services experience

- Knowledge and experience with Linux Operating System

- Knowledge and experience with Virtual Machines (VMs)

- Knowledge and experience with Cisco Switches and network support

- Knowledge of Naval Surface Combat Systems and Weapon Control Systems

- Experience with the Information Assurance of government computer systems

- Knowledge of Windows Domain administration Exec




Education/Certifications:Current IAT Level 2 certification


Clearance: Top Secret withCurrent Single Scope Background Investigation
