SUMMARY:
The Service Asset Configuration Management (SACM) Section provides operational support to maximize the organization\u0027s capabilities and readiness. The objective of the SACM Section is to provide IT Asset and Configuration Management to the organization for both CONUS and OCONUS locations. The section ensures hardware, software, virtual and other service assets/configuration items are properly managed throughout their lifecycle, to include their relationships and dependencies to other configuration items and associated contracts. Projected volume of client records to exceed over 200K records with the integration of configuration/discovery tools for managed systems across the enterprise network.
DUTIES:
Review, reconcile and conduct comprehensive data analysis of large volumes of data to assess findings/discrepancies and develop data mitigation strategies.Properly manage and track all Client service assets/configuration items.Provide status and lifecycle reports, support verification and audits activities, and ensure software license compliance.Perform physical configuration audits with collaboration of government personnel for major sites in support of establishing and maintaining the configuration baseline for USMC sites.Perform impact analysis of proposed changes based on system dependencies.Perform lifecycle/product bulletin research of hardware and software products to support proper sustainment and refresh/replacement planning for systems near or at end-of-life.Use their knowledge of above named systems and concepts to provide IT Asset Management/Configuration Management support in accordance with Client SACM standard operating procedures.QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Certifications:
Mid-level knowledge of MS Access and MS ExcelPossess IT Infrastructure Library Foundations certification (ITILv3)Background Needed and Years of Experience:
Active Secret Clearance2-3 years providing IT Asset/Configuration Management Support
ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Technical Skills (Must Have):
BMC Atrium CMDB training 8.0 or greaterBe familiar with IT Service Management (ITSM) concepts, practices, and proceduresTechnical Skills (Preferred):
4-6 years providing IT Asset/Configuration Management SupportMid-level knowledge of both BMC Internal Reporting tool (BIRT) , BMC Analytics and SMART reportingMid-level knowledge of the BMC Remedy ITSM suite and associated consoles (e.g., Software Asset Management, Technical Refresh, Change Management, Incident Management, Release Management, Service Request)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Contractor site with 0%-10% travel possible. Possible off-hours work to support releases and outages. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 10% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands: Sedentary – 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
