**Job Summary**
Our Geo Engineering team in Stockholm is seeking a Senior Rock Engineer experienced in providing specialist input to a range of transportation engineering projects such as highways, railways, tunnels and bridges.
To be successful the candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the industry with a proven track record in the delivery of technical projects and be fully conversant with the standards that apply throughout the industry.
The position will suite a person who wishes to assist in the development of innovative, cost effective and buildable solutions in an environment that is collaborative, stimulating and demanding.
**Office Overview**
Our Sweden team comprises around 25 staff, providing one-stop access to a variety of services. The Stockholm office traditionally has a diverse range of interesting projects in Sweden and overseas and over many years has built a reputation for successfully delivering engineering schemes in Sweden and many other countries.
We are looking to enhance and grow this team with individuals with a sound technical ability that share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload.
The team provides services ranging from project management, feasibility studies, detailed design and construction on a wide range of contracts and supports other AECOM business lines where their projects have a Geotechnical Engineering interface. Our clients are from the private and public sector and include leading contractors and developers.
**Job Responsibilities**
The Senior Rock Engineer will be responsible for developing and leading a team, providing expertise and applying rock mechanic principles to surface and tunnel design problems. Full project scope, from study level to the detailed design and construction with the requirement to liaise with other technical specialists. This is a critical role in our leadership team; as we expand our Transportation business and support our strong Infrastructure activities.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Several years of relevant experience enabling you to have developed a range of relative knowledge and skills, especially in the field of hard and igneous rocks.
+ You will have a working knowledge of Swedish geology, engineering geology and rock mechanics.
+ Good people management and team working skills.
+ You will be able to describe soils and rocks, appreciate geomorphological features, record your findings and write clear and concise reports.
+ Knowledge of CAD and geotechnical software would be an advantage.
+ Qualifications that include geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology or other related subjects would be an advantage.
+ Fluent in Swedish and very good English language skills (written and spoken)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Driver's license
