**Job Summary**

**Bridges Lead Responsibilities:**

+ Manages technical client relationships and plays a major role in selling

+ Manages discipline department staff (staff development and management)

+ Financial management, administration and control of projects.

+ Plans, controls, organises and manages complex projects.

+ Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule and oversees technical resources to meet requirements on large, complex projects

+ Project execution and ensuring that projects are undertaken to a quality management system, to high technical standards, within budget and programme

+ Provides specialised technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise

+ Approves and signs off on work

+ Leads in one or more areas of technology

+ Makes recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problems

+ Prepares and presents technical reports, institutes changes in methods, designs or equipment

+ Conducts assignments in the engineering field

+ Business development - support or lead tender pursuits and/or proposals for roads and bridges projects.

+ Any other work, related to projects in the department, as directed by the Transportation Lead

**Additional information:**

+ Own reliable transport

+ Proficiency in industry-standard design and project management software

+ Although projects will predominantly be in South Africa, the candidate will need to demonstrate a willingness to undertake projects within Africa, while being based in the Bellville Office.

**Minimum Requirements**

+ Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in a Consulting Engineering environment, specialising in Bridges

+ Strong background in terms of Bridge design on major roads projects

+ Demonstrate suitable experience on National and Provincial projects (e.g. SANRAL and WCPG projects)

+ Experience in BIM, Revit and specialist design software for Bridge infrastructure design

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

+ Professionally registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa

+ Relevant Master's Degree in Civil Engineering will be preferred
