Scope of Job:

 The Solar Senior Manager provides management and technical support on owned and third-party assets contracted under EDF Renewables. This position leads operational excellence across solar fleet at EDF Renewable by providing safe, reliable, and cost-effective technical support on Solar systems. This position will be responsible for establishing best practices across the solar fleet. He/she will develop strong maintenance and safety strategies on these systems for long term sustainable performance. This position will be the Solar and Battery Storage subject matter expert and will support the electrical safety program.
 
Responsibilities:
 
45% Establish and support   solar O&M execution and associated resources
·        Provide senior leadership and support for all aspects concerning areas of solar collection systems, inverters, trackers and, battery conversion systems.
·        Establishes plans and goals to improve the cost effectiveness, timeliness, reliability, and safety of solar and battery storage operations.
·        Ensures cost effective, high quality and timely delivery of maintenance and operational and safety service policies and procedures to internal customers.
·         Responsible for demonstrating leadership that leads to a strong culture of Safety & Quality on related project sites.

35% Process Standardization & Continuous Improvement
·        Develops, plans and implements technical, systemic and work process changes needed to improve safety, efficiency, quality and productivity.
·        Integrates solar/battery storage operations and maintenance activities with operations of various Electric Operations' areas.
·          Develops plans and recommends policies,programs and best practices which promote improved, safe, reliable and efficient operations and maintenance of Company solar and battery storage assets.
·         Plans, manages and controls department's financial resources through best practices identified by both internal & external resources. Tracks, monitors and establishes benchmark procedures.
·         Work with peers to develop EDF Renewable Services' processes which meet contractual obligations.
·         Work with procurement to develop parts inventory lists and recommended spare parts quantities for all owned and third-party solar and battery storage assets.

·        Responsible for driving & sharing lessons learned within EDF while leading a continuous improvement approach toward the business.
15% Relationship Management of internal & external stakeholders
·        Travel to industry events to acquire experience and knowledge in the changing market.
·        Researches, investigates and recommends potential new business opportunities in solar/ battery storage operations, and maintenance.
·         Provide support to management on the adherence to all approved project budgets.
·         Provide input for the development of P&L and OPEX Performa Models for internal use.
·           Support Regional Directors during the evaluation of EDF Renewable Services' ability in meeting both industry standards & customer expectations.
·         Deploy actions and corrections as provided by the Asset Optimization Senior Directors.

Qualifications:
·         Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another related field preferred.
·         Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience
·         Minimum of 5 years electrical energy experience with a discipline in solar, and battery storage preferred, renewable energy experience preferred.
·           Working knowledge of the renewable energy industry solar/battery storage best practices, NEC requirements, and diagnosis/repair of common solar and battery storage failures.
 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
·           Ability to communicate effectively across all operational levels of the organization as well as with suppliers and customers, exercising appropriate diplomacy to accomplish objectives
·           Advanced knowledge and skill for troubleshooting of AC / DC high, medium, low voltage and control circuits.
·          Knowledge of in-depth testing and troubleshooting of solar inverters, trackers, meteorological equipment to include transformers, breakers, relays, contactors, and motors
·          Highly experienced in using and understanding testing and diagnostic equipment utilized for troubleshooting low and medium voltage systems
·         A strong understanding of varying electrical codes, IEC standards, and OSHA regulations
·          Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, database, Outlook, SAP, OSI Pi and various statistical analysis tools
·          A strong understanding of electrical safety and arc flash standards
·          Fluent with common industrial operations management tools, techniques, and methods. SAP, SCADA, data management software, ERP or similar.

  Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk and use his/her hands. The position will require travel, so the employee in this position must be able to successfully accommodate air and ground travel.
 

Working Conditions :
70% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 30% of time is spent outside of the office visiting EDF Renewable Services sites, customers, organizational partners and clients, and other travel related to the renewable energy industry. Ability to travel to international stakeholders.
