Job Description:

Applied Research Associates (ARA), Inc. is seeking an analytic professional with background in Department of Homeland Security analysis and planning working onsite in the District of Columbia. The successful candidate will augment the ARA onsite team to help manage office and business operations. Tasks include task tracking, revising and maintaining office process, budget support, communication plans, and maintain the office SharePoint site. Responsibilities for this position include assisting the Program Manager and Lead Technical Analyst in: identifying proposed studies; planning the resources required for study completion; obtaining study approval; monitoring study progress, and ensuring quality of study deliverables. In addition to these longer term efforts, be ready to assist DHS staff in preparing quick turn and short notice analyses about DHS operational requirements and studies to answer senior leader questions. This position requires daily interaction with DHS clients and regular interaction with study personnel, teammates and subcontractors.

Specific Duties include:
Coordinates work products, and prepares reports and briefings.Works with the ORA staff to track and report on the status of tasks and studies.Analyze management problems and providing advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions to these problems.Maintain and update office standard procedures.Assist in the development and editing of reports and briefings.
Required Skills:
Demonstrated ability to develop standard processes and procedures for collecting and analyzing customer feedback for improving the usefulness of existing customer feedback mechanisms.Knowledge of DHS Headquarters and operational components organizational structures and responsibilitiesKnowledge of secure DHS data sources and how to obtain accessAbility to identify analytic needs and transform those needs into actionable plansAbility to respond to requests for information and provide briefings to senior decision-makersSharePoint management to include managing permissions, list building and maintenance, project status data entryMetrics reporting to including data collection, formatting, and submittingTask tracking to include manage, track and coordinate responsesBudget support to include resource allocation process inputs, congressional justification inputs, pop up project/budget taskers, and status entryBuilding communication products such as factsheets, briefing slides, editing, and communication plansDemonstrated proficiency with use of Microsoft Word Office Suite, such as Word and ExcelStrong quantitative and analytical skillsCollaborative worker and teambuilding ability
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years experienceApplicants must be able to obtain a DHS Headquarters suitability/fitness.
