Job Description

The Project Director is part of a team that supports projects within Cognosante's State Solutions business unit. The Project Director is the primary point of contact for the customer engagement including contract administration, project management and scheduling, status reporting and achievement of service delivery requirements. The Project Director oversees, defines, plans, schedules, and controls all activities related to the project and works closely with other Cognosante project managers working within the project and company. The Project Director ensures that appropriate resources are trained and available to accomplish the tasks, deliverables, and other activities and requirements associated with the project

This position is required to work onsite full-time in the Topeka, KS area with an anticipated start date of April 1, 2020 .

Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary POC for communication with internal, partner and customer executive leadership and teams on any issues that arise, and for on-going discussion of progressDevelop deep familiarity with the contract stipulations and work closely with Cognosante Contracts on all contract-related actions to ensure alignment with contractual requirements and scopeAssist with hiring, retaining and growing capable and effective project team membersDeploy team building and professional development strategies to create high-performing teamsClosely monitor and manage team members to align with the staffing plans, schedule, and cost constraints and goalsDevelop and maintain a comprehensive Project Management Plan, master schedule, and resource allocations, and ensure program-level deadlines are metDevelop client deliverables in accordance with project requirements and company documentation standardsDirect the development of project deliverables to be submitted on a timely basisMonitor progress and quality against the established project plan, schedule and requirementsOversee daily activities of the project team including directing and prioritizing assignmentsReview and guide the team's work to ensure that all project identified processes and methodologies are executed and followed as applicablePrepare status reports and participate in customer status meetingsSupport the project meetings and status reporting activitiesWork closely with the customer to maintain an excellent relationshipAssess project deliverables and risks and issues, providing recommendations to improve outcomesFacilitate customer meetings, prepare agendas, document minutes as neededInterface with the customer and business usersResearch and provide recommendations to the customer on critical business decisionsCollaborate with other team members to provide subject matter expertise and assistance as applicableUtilize knowledge and experience to educate team members and ensure appropriate level of understandingParticipate in other project tasks as necessary

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceA minimum of 6 years' experience managing business operations, people and / or projectsPrior experience in a customer-facing, leadership roleProficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including MS Project and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications
PMI PMP® or other Project Management certificationState healthcare eligibility experience a plusStrong analytical and critical thinking skillsExcellent written and verbal communication, problem-solving and customer service skillsAbility to work independently and manage work to a defined scheduleCapable of conducting meetings and making presentationsAbility to apply industry best practices and future state/federal mandates to existing systemsTeam player and a consistent, dependable performer with an excellent work ethic, flexible "can-do" attitude, and a results-driven commitment to successState healthcare operations experience a plus
