Position Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Software Systems Engineer to join our team in Fairfax, VA. The Software Systems Engineer will provide Tactical Control Systems (TCS) Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and assistance to the TCS Systems Engineering team.

Essential Job Function:
Working with the team to help derive TCS system and subsystem level requirements and corresponding design. Strong documentation skills and strong time management skills are a must. Supporting customer meetings and related tasking. Participation in weekly working groups to help design new capabilities and improvements leading up to program milestone reviews. Assisting with test procedures related to new design. Candidate must be able to grasp and apply new information quickly, demonstrate initiative on assignments and professionally execute projects with direction.

Requirements

Due to the sensitivity of customer requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. High School diploma is required.Must have at least 0-1 year of experience. Must have an active DOD Secret clearance. US nave Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) experience is required.Submarine AN/BYG-1 TCS system experience.High proficiency in using Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Strong organizational skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong customer service/client facing skills.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Good understanding of the Systems Engineering process.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Navy Submarine Design.Experience working with the Submarine Warfare Federated Tactical Systems (SWFTS Community).Design experience within a Systems Engineering team.Requirements Management database tool experience.Experience with IBM Rational DOORS or Telelogic DOORS.
