Job Description:

Summary: Assembles, installs, and sets fixtures and refrigerated cases.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1) Correctly set and bolt refrigerated cases in place.
2) Trim out cases – add extra trim as needed to cover opening.
3) Run drain lines with trap to floor drains.
4) Inspects structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe.
5) Locates and marks position of pipe and pipe connections and passage holes for pipes in walls and floors.
6) Cuts openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
7) Receives, assembles, and installs cases, fixtures, cooler panels and doors.
8) Fills pipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whether system is leaking.
9) Attach fixtures to steel structural members.

Qualifications - To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience - High school education or GED; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Mathematical Skills - Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Current Driver's License
Other Qualifications - Must be able to travel. Able to work nights, weekends, and out of town if needed.

About BRR Refrigeration

BRR Refrigeration is a commercial refrigeration and HVAC contractor focusing mainly on service and installation of supermarkets, convenience store refrigeration, and cold storage facilities. We have been in business for 20 years, employ over 60 employees, and hold mechanical licenses in Virginia, North Carolina, Maryland, and Delaware. We currently provide service and installation work for Food Lion, Kroger, Harris Teeter, Wegman's, Publix, and Wawa, as well as Walmart, Costco, and NEXCOM (Navy). We are familiar with all conventional supermarket rack systems, loop piping systems, glycol systems, and cascade systems as well as different pumps including standard Copeland reciprocating, scroll, screw compressors, and open drive compressors. Our technicians have also been trained in CO­2 Refrigeration Plant for low temp operation. We have one currently in operation in Portsmouth, VA.
