POSITION SUMMARY:
The VoIP/Video Engineer is a subject matter expert with an in-depth knowledge of voice routing communications in medium to large infrastructure and design. This position requires technical expertise in call and video routing, optimization, call and video flow technology, customer service and QoS as referenced to DoD practices. The VoIP/Video Engineer must also be able to work under intense pressure and varying situational environments to provide customers smooth call without interruption

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
1. Provide an implementation of new, existing, and future VoIP (to include Voice Over Secure Internet Protocol (VoSIP) technology utilizing the current industry best practice implementation to include, but not limited to, Cisco Call Manager and Unified Communications systems. The VoIP Engineers manage and maintain the Tier 1 Cisco Call Managers, Gatekeepers, and a Gateway equipment , if applicable, on all networks. VoIP Engineers collaborate with all sections within the Network Operations Security Centers (NOSC) to ensure that VoIP traffic does not interfere with or hinder network data traffic.
2. Provides expert technical support for existing and expanding VoIP networks, services, system upgrades, and equipment purchases to the customer.
3. Monitors and identifies capacity, quality and performance issues for VoIP traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telephony systems.
4. Ability to troubleshoot servers and infrastructure equipment
5. Ability to assess networking requirements and provide solutions
6. Ability to make accurate and independent decisions under pressure
7. Experience with a customer service oriented company
8. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
9. Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment
10. Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneous ly

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
1. Candidate must be able to lift, push and pull up to 40 lbs.

2. The work environment will be 95% indoor and 5% outdoor. The outdoor work environment may exceed temperatures of 100 degrees Fahrenheit. Candidate must be able to physically withstand extreme heat .

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ed ucation: Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience preferably in Computer Science or MIS, IS, Engineering or related field. One-year related experience can be substituted for one year of education if the degree is required. One year of related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for one year of experience up to a maximum of a 4-year bachelor's degree in a Software Engineering or Business Information Systems discipline for three years general experience.

Experience: Minimum of five years of experience in administrative, technical work, which demonstrated the ability and aptitudes, required to perform technical, managerial, or analytical work and coordination involving management information systems. The VoIP Engineer should have hands-on experience in VoIP technologies in medium to large environments.

Certifications: This position requires candidates to adhere to DoD 8570.01-M. All candidates are required to maintain at least one (1) baseline certification and one (1) computing environment (CE) certification. The authorized certifications for this job title are listed as follows:

IAT Level: IAT III

• CASP, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH
CE:
• CCNP (Any)
• CCIE (Any )
