Job Description
Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services ( DBHDS ) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
ESH invites applications for the position of Information Technology Specialist II.
This position will provide technical support to over 850 users to include delivery of hardware, software applications and account management. Support includes 580 computers, 455 printers, 42 locally developed applications and the creation, suspension and deprovisioning of over 850 user accounts. Work varies from moderately complex projects and independent systems and function at varying technical levels and difficulties.
Minimum Qualifications
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex and/or unusual computer problems within site specifications and given deadlines for the agency's workload.
• Knowledge in applying fundamental concepts, procedures and principles to complete difficult tasks.
• Ability to plan and prioritize workload to meet established deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to interact and communicate with departments and provide customer service to staff to ensure the reliability and utilization of hospitals services, systems and applications.
• Ability to provide guidance and training to staff as needed.
• Ability to perform necessary tasks effectively and independently.
• Knowledge and relative experience in computer configuration and end-user support of hardware, software and peripherals.
• Experience in supporting Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications in computer sciences and/or applications or a combination of education and experience preferred.
