Reports to: Chief Development Officer

Exempt Status: FLSA Exempt

Position Summary:
The Project Manager has responsibility for providing a full-range of
project management supports to the Chief Development Officer,
including work of a highly confidential and complex nature that requires
considerable discretion, judgment, flexibility, decision-making, and
attention to detail.
Project Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contact AMVETS state and local leadership regarding the
details of the project
• Write letters and send them to appropriate bodies, and receive
incoming mails
• Travel and weekend work will be required in support of
AMVETS mission
• Create specific strategies for easier and effective execution of
projects
• Maintain contacts with potential stakeholders who may be
interested in investing in projects
• Supervise tasks assigned to project workers as instructed by the
director or executive director
• Keep records of all information related to project for
documentation, clarification and presentation to management
• Draft project proposal ideas and present them to the director with
convincing proof for approval
• Intermediate between the director and other employees to
prevent agitations that may hinder the smooth flow of project
execution

Requirements: Skills, knowledge and abilities required to be considered for the position of
project assistant:

• Bachelors degree, masters preferred
• Minimum three (3) years experience as a project manager
• Minimum three (3) years experience in customer service or as an account
representative
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Word Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to solveproblems
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Ability to work independently
• A Veteran with an interest in Veteran’s advocacy is preferred, but not mandatory

Physical and Environment Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability
to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type and Work Hours:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to
5:00 pm. Additional hours and travel are expected.

Education Level:

Bachelors degree or higher

Pay Rate:

$60,000 to $80,000

Moderate
