The Role
As a US Government (USG) Windows Admin / Desktop Support Engineer on Palantir's USG Security team, you are the go-to for any and all issues related to the hardware that enables our employees to be productive in our USG facilities and related enclaves. You are responsible for fixing the myriad of problems brought to to you with an unparalleled instinct for diagnosing the issue, a desire to learn new skills, and a passion for helping others.
While you have the knowledge and expertise to work with machines, you love people and enjoy spending each day helping someone new. Outside of direct user support, you proactively enhance the functionality, security, and inspection-readiness of our Windows workstation and Active Directory environments in support of our critical USG missions.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as the front line for all USG Windows workstation and domain technical operations.
- Solve enterprise scale problems by creatively engineering automated solutions.
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows workstations.
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions for networking and connectivity issues.
- Manage our Windows and 3rd party product patching process end-to-end.
- Create how-to guides that empower employees to own common workflows and solve issues.
- Evaluate new hardware and software technologies.
- Prep our workstation environment for USG-mandated SVA inspections.
What We Value
- 3+ years of experience in providing desktop/help desk support, especially in a secure or US Government environment.
- Strong communication skills with a commitment to outstanding customer service.
- Intimate knowledge of desktop operating environments and common networking issues.
- A patient, logical, and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Willingness to participate in a team-wide on-call rotation.
- Creativity, flexibility, professionalism, and determination.
- Comfort working under deadlines.
- Experience with Active Directory and/or LDAP administration.
- Basic experience with AV and Video Conferencing support experience.
- A fully adjudicated (non-interim) SECRET or TOP SECRET DoD clearance; SCI eligibility is a plus.
