Job Description:
As the Salesforce Release Manager, responsible for the efficient delivery of application releases supporting business critical initiatives. Responsible for owning the Release Mgmt life cycle & strategy which includes scheduling, coordinating and managing of releases across the Salesforce platform. The Release Manager, in coordination with key team members, designs, develops, implements and manages the procedures and tools to support environment management, configuration migration, deployments, documentation standards, naming conventions and source control. Responsibilities also include building and maintaining the release calendar to create a central view of all releases. Assist in managing inter-dependencies between parallel development efforts to enable team to adhere to schedules and maximize business value by improving team's effectiveness and efficiency.
As the Sr. Salesforce Administrator, partner with business and IT stakeholders to identify, scope, prioritize and deliver Salesforce platform projects and enhancements. The Sr. Salesforce Admin is responsible for analyzing current issues and proposing solutions that balance cost with business benefits. This individual will possess (i) strong business acumen, (ii) strong hands-on knowledge of Salesforce citizen development and administration, and (iii) proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help maximize the business value of IT system investments.
Release Manager
Define and champion process improvements related to release planning, code and configuration migration, release deployment, environment mgmt, documentation standards, naming conventions and source control.
Define and implement tools to support above processes
Train team members on above processes and enforce compliance
Negotiate, plan, communicate and manage release schedules.
Identify potential conflicts and risks with releases. Mitigate risks by coordinating with project teams.
Conduct release readiness reviews and business go/no-go decision reviews.
Perform cutover planning and oversee deployments. Ensure appropriate resources are available and communicate deployment status as necessary.
Manage sandbox environments and coordinate schedules for conducting refreshes
Manage data loading tools & techniques to populate sandboxes with production data.
Maintain metrics on production changes (e.g., number of deployments, issues related to deployments, status of improvement items, etc.)
Maintain key production org metrics (e.g., code coverage) and drive remediation actions where needed
Work with development teams to understand impacts of branches and code merges
Develop scripts and automation tools used to build, integrate, and deploy software releases to production environment
Maintain a release repository and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists
Research new software development and configuration management methodologies and technologies and analyze their application to current configuration management needs
Senior Salesforce Administrator
Working directly with business, understand business requirements, translated into system requirements and design, identify solution options and recommendations, estimate LOEs, and develop working solutions using Salesforce and related applications
Design, document, build, test and deploy custom objects, fields, formulas, validation rules, custom workflow, approval processes, and other enhancements in Salesforce.
Stay up to date on new features and functionalities, initiating recommendations for process improvements
Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in IT business applications that integrate with Salesforce
Review and analyze the effectiveness of existing systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
