ESSENTIAL AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY:

GENERAL FUNCTION:
This position supports the SAFTAS II Program
Leads and conducts studies in human/machineinteraction, equipment/facilities design, environmental design, and humanperformance assessment. Responsible for finalizing project deliverablesand writing of technical reportsDesigns experiments and usability testing,oversees data collection and analysis of behavioral dataParticipates in overall project management.Knowledge of human cognition, including serialand parallel processing, visual perception, attention allocation, and reactiontime.Expert in experimental design and statisticalanalysis. May participate in staffdevelopment/section. Support Organizational Performance, Product Design,including Human Factors integration, concept design and development, rapidprototyping, user testing and qualification. Involved in all phases of the lifecycle and youshall have inputs to defining Human Factors requirement, systems integration,setting up and running assessments and generating qualification evidence. Work may include human workload, situationawareness, human reliability analysis and cultural interventions.Requires a background in Industrial Engineeringwith a specialty in Human Factors and Ergonomics.Cognitive psychology with experience in HFengineering, Human Factors, Human Machine Interface design, Human SystemsInterface Design.Industrial Engineering with a specialty in HumanFactors and Ergonomics. Establish and maintain effective professionalworking relationships with co-workers, and customers.Follow policies and procedures as described incorporate manuals and directives.Attend work each day during scheduled work hoursunless on approved travel or time off.Perform occasional travel to contractor andcustomer sites, as required (see WORKING CONDITIONS below).Work flexible hours, including occasionalovertime.Carry out other duties as may be assigned orrequested.WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed indoors at SAF TAS II withsome potential risks to safety and healthhazards relation to electronicsTravel to CONUS location may be required.QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certifications/Experience/Skills:
Bachelor's(or equivalent) with 5-7 year of experience, or a Master's and 3 to 5 year of experience. MBA with technical/scientific undergraduate degree will be considered.Abilityto effectively communicate both orally and in writingMustobtain and maintain a government security clearance at the appropriate level
Mustbe proficient in the use of MicrosoftOffice Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), MicrosoftInternet Explorer, Must be able to transport self to variousfacility sites, as required. If usingown motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license and proof ofinsurance.Physical Skills and Abilities:
