The Prepositioning and Marine Corps Logistics Services (P&MCLS) program is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.

We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for Tanks for our Kuwait location.

Position Responsibilities

A Heavy Equipment Mechanic under supervision will be capable of maintaining, servicing, inspecting and repairing diesel combustion powered military equipment. E.g. medium to heavy motor transport vehicles, track vehicles, tanks and recovery vehicles. Will perform Preventive and Corrective maintenance on heavy equipment motors, transmissions, hydraulics, track pads, tank turrets and retrievers. Performs limited technical inspections with the receiving units and upon return of the assets to include the SL-3 inventories. Ensures heavy equipment is Ready For Issue, if necessary identifies the corrective maintenance actions and creates a maintenance service request in Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps (GCSS-MC). Capable of performing Quality Assurance (QA) inspections on heavy equipment when maintenance is complete. Will provide technical assistance, guidance, or training to Maintenance Helpers and other mechanics. May be required, as requested by management, to plan, prioritize and organize section work plans, tasks, verify the work/process is completed, maintain scheduled production data, report work and manpower status and verify accuracy of administrative data. Will be required to enter all maintenance activities performed into the Global Combat Support System - Marine Corps. Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
HS diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years directly related experience. US Citizen. Proof required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance. Additional Qualifications
Must be able to lift 50 pounds unaided. Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. Passport. Valid state Motor Vehicle Operator License. Applicants must be able to obtain a finding of 'NO RECORD' on the Police Record Investigation . Completed military equipment mechanics course or civilian equivalent. Ability to operate personal computers, multimedia data entry, and scanning and retrieval systems functions. Understanding of the organization's logistic functions and the activities involved in providing logistical support. Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Employees live off base in leased apartments. Must be willing and able to travel (military airlift) and work in other countries in the region of the Middle East. In addition to meeting employment requirements, the United States Marine Corps has minimal standards of fitness for deployment. Your continued employment is contingent upon your being approved for deployment by the United States Marine Corps, in accordance with their policies and regulations. Most work will be performed in extreme temperatures, employees must be willing and able to work under these conditions as determined by a required physical examination. Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position. This duration of this position is subject to change based on customer needs.
